Agate Bay is located on the California side of the California/Nevada state line on the north shore of Lake Tahoe between Kings Beach and Carnelian Bay. The neighborhoods in this area of the lake get fabulous sun exposure and experience a “banana belt” weather effect. Plus, the neighborhood is mostly level with wide streets which makes for easy winter driving. The homes in this neighborhood are a combination of charming older Tahoe cabins and brand-new modern homes.

Access to outdoor fun is easy from this location including golf courses, Northstar, Homewood and Palisades Tahoe, as well as great public and private beach access. The Agate Pier and Swim Club, also known as the “Sun Club”, offers two tiers of membership to owners within the Agate Bay subdivision. Membership is either transferred from the old owner or bought directly from the club when available.

Location: Agate Bay is located on the North Shore of Lake Tahoe near Carnelian Bay between Sahara Road and Granite Road.

Home/Property Types: There are 640+ properties in the Agate Bay neighborhood.

Neighborhood Highlights: This neighborhood, like many in Tahoe has a mix of classic Tahoe cabins and newer modern homes, but no condo complex. Of the 640+ properties only about 20 are lakefront. Also, this area has its own private water with Agate Bay Water Company. Owners in the neighborhood have the option of membership with the Agate Pier & Swim Club to get access to those private amenities.

Optional Club Membership Fees: The club memberships are optional and have two membership tiers at about $700 or $550 per year. Both have a membership transfer fee of around $2,500. There is a membership cap, so transferring membership from the former owner is the easiest option.
